Dr. Raul Cuero is an example of a true fighter. With his background of living in the poorest condition and having almost no resources he commited him self to education. Dr. Cureo overcame those hardships as he made them a platform for his ambitions. In the interview he described the way the society in which he lived in, looks at people from his background with prejudice. As an Afro-Colombian he felt as his society was somewhat undestimating his intellectual abilities. Even though his first encounter with such prejudice was shocking to him, he quickly utilized this doubtes to his favor. He felt encouraged instead, and tried to pursue his dreams. When Dr. Cuero graduated college, and was offered a scholarship in the United States he sized his chance. He became creative, and with his education he was able to provided back to society with his inventions and work as professor. I see all of his work and determination as inspiration for myself, and all other people to invest and do better with what we have. Even though his unique experience made him what he is today, I can still personaly relate to some of those experiences. One example is his use of the obsticals he faced in his favor, by using it as motives.
